ORLANDO, Fla. – Florida is shaking off a brief cold snap and heading back to its warm weather.
Temperatures will continue to show a warming trend over the weekend and into next week.
As you plan your weekend activities, anticipate warmer-than-normal temperatures. There is a slight 20-30 percent chance of showers, particularly in coastal areas, due to onshore winds.
Afternoon highs are expected to warm into the middle to upper 70s on Saturday under partly cloudy skies and staying windy.
Beachgoers and boaters should be aware that windy conditions may lead to rough conditions on the water. A high rip current risk and high surf advisory remains in place through Monday.
Overall, expect a delightful weekend with temperatures reaching around 79 degrees on Sunday.
While the upcoming weekend and week are set to be warm, a strong cold front is anticipated by Thursday, bringing some significant changes. Scattered rain and storms are also possible by midweek.
When that front clears, Friday morning temperatures could drop in the 40s and 50s in Central Florida.
This change is attributed to a shift in the upper-level pattern causing a dip in the jet stream, which will allow cooler air to flow southward.
