ORLANDO, Fla. – The next seven to ten days are going to busy in the weather department, especially here in Central Florida.
We’re already cold outside and it’s going to get a lot colder once these next few storm systems start to roll through. Temperatures are unlikely to reach 60 degrees after Tuesday and forward through the weekend. The feels-like temperatures will be even more harsh.
First however, the Storm Prediction Center believes Floridians will have to battle through another round of showers and possible strong storms, particularly if you live in the northern portions of the peninsula. As the cold front heads our way, it acts like a funnel and magnet at the same time.

If you notice in our seven-day forecast below, temperatures do try to climb back into the mild range late Sunday and especially the first half of Monday. This is the key to dialing in your forecast for rain and possible storms with the major winter storm coming down. We’ll receive the tail end of that cold mass, but it nevertheless could cause some trouble for us.
After that front can move to our south, the winds are going to pick up out of the north and west. We’ll see even more dense flows of cold air sweeping our viewing area, which will only make the temperatures feel that much more FRIGID!
Because we’re dealing with a very robust winter storm, coupled with a very shallow but tightly packed together dome of arctic air, the winds we feel down at ground level will be SURGING. So despite forecast temperatures not coming down as much as you may have seen elsewhere, the wind chill will be an issue we have to combat.
Layers will be the name of the game, regardless of the time of day. Even in the afternoon mid to late in our upcoming week, highs won’t escape the mid to upper 50s. With those winds cranking, helping to drive more arctic air into Central Florida, you’ll want additional layers beneath your coat or jacket.
Beyond this first huge punch of cold, freezing temperatures, we have another weak wave that’s pinpointed to form in the northwestern Gulf of Mexico. This is going to help force those temperatures to stay as cold as ever despite typical Florida trying to rebound. Looks like we won’t be making a quick escape this time around.
