ORLANDO, Fla. – Tuesday’s cold front will bring another round of cooler and drier conditions to east Central Florida through the week.
Don’t expect much of a warm up Tuesday, as skies will stay mostly cloudy to overcast, with gradual clearing later in the afternoon and evening. Afternoon highs will range between the mid to upper 60s. Winds will stay elevated through the afternoon and into the overnight hours.
Lows Tuesday night and into early Wednesday will dip into the upper 30s to low 40s. But with the added breeze, wind chills could get even colder.
For those who enjoy a nice cool beach day, longshore current will develop increasing the threat for dangerous rip currents along the Atlantic coastline.
The cooler-than-normal weather continues through the rest of the week as several dry waves of cooler air keeps temperatures in the 60s during the day and the 40s overnight.
The coldest night will be Thursday into Friday, with lows in the upper 30s north of I-4 and in the low 40s for the northern inland areas. By Friday afternoon, temperatures will start to warm up as high pressure moves offshore, bringing more southerly winds.
Looking ahead to the weekend, expect warmer and wetter weather. A large weather system is expected to move through the country, with the associated cold front reaching north Florida by Saturday. The front is expected to slow down significantly, lingering through the majority weekend.
While there’s still some uncertainty, models are showing that rain chances will likely go up (30-40%) as the weekend progresses. Highs will climb back into the 70s, maybe even low 80s, with lows in the 60s on Saturday and Sunday.
Cooler weather will return early next week.
