Chilly start to a cool day in Central Florida. Here’s when things shake up

Highs in the 60s with clouds likely in the afternoon

ORLANDO, Fla. – After a chilly start to Wednesday in the 30s and 40s, temperatures will warm a bit with highs staying cooler than usual this afternoon, only reaching the 60s in most places.

Winds will ease up slightly inland with gusts up to 20 mph remaining along the coast. Although the sunshine will filter through, increasing clouds will be likely into the afternoon.

Wednesday night, the cloud cover will help keep things a bit warmer than Wednesday morning, dipping into the upper 40s to lower 50s for most areas. Those north of Interstate 4 might see lows in the lower 40s.

THIS WEEK

The high pressure that’s been hanging over the Deep South will stick around through Friday, keeping Central Florida dry and cool. Even though the skies will finally clear up on Friday, the cool temperatures will stick around, with highs struggling to reach 70 degrees.

Looks like Thursday night into Friday morning will be the coldest night of the week, with temperatures in the 40s and wind chills in the upper 30s to low 40s.

WEEKEND

Things start to get more active this weekend as a warm front moves through ahead of a wetter low-pressure system. This system will bring a cold front through early Sunday increasing rain chances (30-60%) across the area.

Rain looks to arrive north of I-4 on Saturday and then spreading south into early Sunday morning. As of now, instability remains low, which will keep thunderstorm chances out of the forecast.

Along with it being a wetter weekend, it will also be warmer! Highs are expected to jump into the mid 70s to low 80 Saturday. On Sunday, highs will be in the 70s for most places.

NEXT WEEK

Next week looks to stay active with showers continuing, though it’s still uncertain exactly how much rain we’ll get. Onshore flow will likely bring breezy conditions along the coast and temperatures should remain cool, but closer to normal than we’ve seen lately.
