ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida is gearing up for a weather shift as much-needed rain is expected early this week.
As dry conditions continue to dominate, this change is anticipated to bring some relief to the parched region.

The current weather in Central Florida has been notably dry, with many locations recorded as either abnormally or moderately dry.

Sunday, Central Florida can expect to be nice, dry, and sunny with highs in the upper 60s and lower 70s.

Starting Monday morning, the region will see a substantial increase in rain chances of scattered to heavy rain throughout the day.

Light to moderate rain is expected to move over parts of Marion and Sumter counties late Sunday.
After 2 a.m. Monday, rain will steadily shift east, becoming widespread at times. The morning commute, from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m., is set to be a soggy one for many areas.
By Monday afternoon, most of the rain will ease up, but some areas may still get light to moderate showers through the day. Keep your rain gear handy!

Measurable rain is expected for many residents through Monday, so you can give your sprinklers a break.

The GFS model predicts 1 to 1.5 inches of rain for most areas, while the EURO model expects up to 1 inch with the possibility of higher amounts in some spots.

As the week progresses, temperatures are predicted to warm up, reaching the high 70s and low 80s by midweek.
