ORLANDO, Fla. – A nice dry and breezy Friday is on tap as a large ridge of high pressure keeps conditions quiet.
Winds through the day will crank up out of the southeast between 15-20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph. The combination of warm, dry and breezy weather means moderate to high fire danger Friday, so be cautious with outdoor activities.

Expect daytime temps to feel a little cooler than usual due to the breeze — upper 70s along the coast and low 80s inland.

Saturday:
We’ll start to see a shift on Saturday as the high pressure weakens and moves off. By the afternoon and evening, moisture will return, bringing the chance for clouds and a few showers.
These showers will be scattered, with the best chances along the coast. Rain chances will be around 20-30%, with most of the action happening Saturday afternoon and evening, before pushing northward overnight.
Sunday:
A much more active weather day begins Sunday. Deeper moisture associated with a passing upper-level disturbance will ramp up our rain chances to around 70-80%. Expect widespread showers and some isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon and evening. A few of these storms could pack a punch, with gusty winds or small hail, especially as the storms develop along the sea breeze.

We’ll need to keep an eye on these storms, as conditions could warrant a low risk of severe weather. Showers and storms will linger into Sunday night, especially along southern zones.
Temperatures on Sunday will be in the low 80s along the coast and mid 80s inland.
Next week:
As we head into next week, a cold front will start moving toward Florida, but stalling to our north. This setup will keep us on the hot and humid side. Expect the hottest stretch of the year to begin Monday and stick around for a few days with highs nearing 90 degrees.

Stay tuned for updates as we head into a wetter weekend!
