ORLANDO, Fla. – High temperatures across the area are holding steady in the low 90s, but the heat index is forecast to make it feel even hotter especially after 12 p.m. By the afternoon, it will feel like 101 to 102 degrees in several cities.
Many locations will see daytime highs lower 90s but feeling like triple digits.
Rain chances are elevated, ranging from 50% to 70% across Central Florida.
The most active weather is expected to develop between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m., especially along the I-4 corridor and in coastal counties.
The forecast through the rest of the week shows the heat sticking around.
The seven-day outlook keeps high temperatures in the low 90s through Thursday and Friday, with elevated chances for storms each day. Overnight lows stay in the mid 70s.
As the weekend approaches, temperatures are expected to drop slightly, with highs in the upper 80s to around 90 but rain chances will linger though not every plan is expected to be a washout. Intermittent showers are forecast, so there will likely be stretches of dry time too.
