ORLANDO, Fla. – MONDAY
A Heat Advisory is in effect for the majority of Central Florida, as heat index values are expected to reach 105 to 110 degrees. High temperatures will climb into the 90s, and a southwest breeze will limit the cooling effect of the east coast sea breeze.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon, with rain chances around 40 to 60 percent. A few showers and storms will develop earlier in the day before another round of storms forms later this afternoon and evening. Stronger storms could produce frequent lightning, wind gusts up to 50 mph, torrential downpours, and isolated flooding.
MIDWEEK
The heat isn’t going anywhere through midweek. Highs will remain in the 90s Tuesday and Wednesday, with heat index values continuing above 100 degrees. Wednesday currently looks to be the hottest day of the week, and additional Heat Advisories may be needed.
LATE WEEK
Rain chances increase later this week as deeper moisture returns to Central Florida. More widespread afternoon showers and storms are expected Thursday through Saturday, with coverage ramping up to 60-80 percent. Highs are expected to cool slightly into the lower 90s.
