Development chances hold steady overnight for disturbance in Atlantic, hurricane center says

NHC gives wave a 40% chance over next 7 days

ORLANDO, Fla. – A disturbance in the Atlantic maintained medium chances into Sunday morning for tropical development over the next week.

The National Hurricane Center is keeping an eye on the disturbance east of the Lesser Antilles.

As of 8 a.m. Sunday, the wave still has a 40% chance to develop into a more organized tropical feature over the next seven days, when it could become a tropical depression or even a tropical storm.

As it moves west-northwest into the Caribbean, conditions are expected to become more conducive for development.
