ORLANDO, Fla. – Greater Orlando Aviation Authority officials announced Monday that Orlando International Airport and Orlando Executive Airport will soon cease operations due to Hurricane Milton.
Officials said the stoppage begins Wednesday morning but did not provide an exact time.
The stoppage applies to all commercial passenger and private operations, according to a news release.

Our airport will cease commercial operations on Wednesday morning, in advance of Hurricane Milton. This move was made in coordination with our partners. We will resume commercial operations as soon as it is safe.

The airport is not closed and will remain open to accept emergency aid and relief flights as necessary, officials said.
According to the release, the airport will resume commercial operations as soon as possible based on damage assessment.

GOAA officials reminded the public that MCO is not an authorized shelter. The airport cannot accommodate local residents during severe weather events.
