COUNTY-BY-COUNTY: Road closures in Central Florida ahead of Hurricane Milton

Hurricane Milton is set to make landfall in Florida sometime late Wednesday through early Thursday, bringing plenty of storm damage and flooding to Central Florida.

As the storm progresses, News 6 is keeping an eye on various road closures throughout the region brought on by Milton.

The following are road closures or hazards as of 5 p.m. on Wednesday:


BREVARD COUNTY

  • COCOA BEACH
    • City officials announced that A1A was shut down amid major flooding throughout the city
  • PALM BAY
    • Police urge drivers to avoid Port Malabar Drive and Babcock Street intersection due to flooding
    • Police urge drivers to avoid Americana Boulevard and Atlantic Avenue Northeast intersection due to flooding

FLAGLER COUNTY

  • BUNNELL
    • State Road 100 closed near Deen Road due to heavy flooding. Detour through Deen Road
  • ORMOND BEACH
    • High Bridge Road closed near John Anderson Drive due to high tide

LAKE COUNTY

  • CLERMONT
    • Florida’s Turnpike Southbound closed near State Road 91 (mile marker 280) due to standing water, according to the FHP

MARION COUNTY

  • BELLEVIEW
    • Around 3 inches of standing water in eastbound lanes of 4100 SE 100th Street. Drivers urged to use caution
  • OCALA
    • Hole opened up in outside lane of South Pine Avenue near Southwest Broadway Street. Drivers urged to use caution

ORANGE COUNTY

  • OCOEE
    • State Road 429 Southbound has standing water in the center lane between mile markers 20 and 22. Drivers urged to use caution

POLK COUNTY

  • DAVENPORT
    • Several tree branches have fallen along Legends Boulevard near Champions Gate Boulevard. Drivers urged to use caution
  • LAKELAND
    • Reynolds Road flooded at Maine Avenue, according to law enforcement
    • Tree down in right and center lanes along Interstate 4 Eastbound near mile marker 33. Drivers urged to use caution
  • WINTER HAVEN
    • 42nd Street NW at Avenue Q NW is flooded, according to law enforcement

SEMINOLE COUNTY

  • OVIEDO
    • Stephens Avenue between East Franklin Street and County Road 419 closed due to water on the road, police announced

VOLUSIA COUNTY

If sustained wind speeds reach 39 mph, all bridges crossing the Halifax River will be closed. They will reopen after the Florida Department of Transportation deems them to be safe.
