Highs will continue to soar into the mid- to low 90s. Heat indices will start reaching the triple digits by noon through 4 p.m. on Tuesday, according to News 6 meteorologist Candace Campos.
Rain relief will move in during the afternoon hours, where the sea breezes collide. Rain coverage will sit at 40 percent for eastern counties after 5 p.m.
"As we head into Father's Day weekend, an area of low pressure will form near the Carolinas," Campos said. "Banded moisture in the upper levels will inject additional instability to our atmosphere, increasing the risk for afternoon thunderstorms."
