Arrest made after man shot to death in Orange County neighborhood

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The Orange County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday announced an arrest had been made in the shooting death of a man earlier this month.

Charles Hollins, 42, faces a charge of second-degree murder with a firearm in the death of George Samuels III, 46, who was shot the night of April 7 in the 1000 block of 24th Street, according to the sheriff’s office. Samuels was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, deputies said.

Hollins was booked on April 18, records show. At his first appearance in court on April 19, Hollins was given no bond, appointed a public defender and ordered to have no contact with anyone connected to the case.
