BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office says one of its deputies has been terminated after an arrest.

Richard Thompson, 40, was booked into the Volusia County jail on Saturday on charges relating to child abuse, records show.

The sheriff’s office said Thompson was a deputy for three years.

Thompson bonded out of jail on Sunday.
