“It is with a heavy heart that we announce our decision to close our doors at the Black Rooster Taqueria on Curry Ford Rd on Sunday, June 30 after our brunch shift,” the post read. “The ultimate decision was not easy, but it is one that we have made with thoughtful consideration.”

The business did not offer a reason for the closure.

The Curry Ford location opened in November 2021. The owners, John and Juliana Calloway, talked about the second location on an episode of the Florida Foodie podcast. At the time, the pair said they had hoped to expand the business beyond a second location.

With the closure of the Curry Ford location, customers are still encouraged to visit the original location in Oralndo’s Mills 50 neighborhood. There is also a venue inside the Inter&Co Stadium.

“Our family’s dream has always been to run a small family-owned taqueria with excellent food and service. So, please don’t be a stranger,” the post read.
