ORLANDO, Fla. – After over a decade, the Broken Strings Brewery in downtown Orlando has announced its closure, according to the establishment’s Facebook page.

The post states that the brewery’s closure was “effective immediately” on Monday afternoon, though the business still thanked the store’s customers for their patronage.

“Over the years, we have come close to making this announcement many times, and somehow or another, we would find a way to stay open,” the post reads. “But we have finally run out of good luck and miracles, so it’s time to hopefully move on to bigger and better things!”

According to the brewery, many guests had donated to a GoFundMe so the business could make necessary repairs and pay off bills, helping the brewery to remain open through 2024.

“But the changes being made downtown over the past year have basically turned Downtown Orlando into a ghost town, which has affected our business significantly,” the post continues. “And we see no way to stay open in 2025.”

Other factors cited for the closure included the rising cost of doing business and a downturn in craft beer.

However, the brewery also announced that it will host one last party in the taproom on Saturday, Jan. 18, with “free beer until the kegs are empty.”

“More details and time for the event will be made available soon,” the owners wrote. “We hope you can make it out!”
