The Florida Highway Patrol said a 21-year-old woman was killed in the crash, which happened around 1 p.m. Wednesday on I-4 westbound near State Road 417 in Sanford.

The identity of the woman has not been released, pending next-of-kin notification.

Troopers said the woman was merging onto westbound I-4 from the northbound SR 417 exit ramp when she lost control of her SUV, flipped over multiple times and into the westbound lanes of I-4.

A driver of the Toyota Corolla was unable to avoid the SUV and struck the SUV as it was overturned on its roof.

The driver of the Corolla suffered minor injuries and was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Video from Local 6 helicopter Sky 6 showed an overturned car next to another vehicle with heavy front-end damage.

I-4 westbound was closed in the area, and two lanes of I-4 eastbound were blocked. State Road 46 was also closed in the area.

Westbound I-4 traffic was being diverted at exit 101C, the FHP said.
