Search for Michelle Parker continues near Orlando lake

Mother of 3 vanished Nov. 17

ORLANDO, Fla. – Authorities searching for Michelle Parker on Thursday morning discovered a raised section of ground near Lake Ellenor in south Orlando, prompting officials to clear the area to further investigate, although nothing was found.

The search for the missing 33-year-old mother of three continues, a day after at least three dozen searchers scoured in and around the lake.

Parker, 33, disappeared Nov. 17 after dropping off her 3-year-old twins with their father, Dale Smith. The same day, an episode of "The People's Court" aired nationwide featuring the couple in a dispute over a $5,000 engagement ring.

The Orlando Police Department on Monday officially named Smith, 40, as a suspect in Parker's disappearance.

Authorities have not said what prompted the search of the lake area, which is located near Smith's parent's house and his workplace.  It's also near the area where Parker's cellphone last pinged.

"It breaks my heart to think that somebody would throw my daughter's body in a lake," Yvonne Stewart said.

On a Facebook page, Parker's family said T-shirts -- referred to as "walking billboards" -- are being sold for $10 at the command center at Oak Ridge Road and Orange Avenue.  Organizers hope the shirts will prompt someone to come forward with information about Parker.

Smith recently retained prominent Orlando attorney Mark NeJame, who has previously represented the Casey Anthony family and Tiger Woods. Parker's family is represented by Matt Morgan, of Morgan and Morgan.
