Body found in submerged vehicle near Seminole State College identified

Mark Reagan, 47, reported missing on Monday

LAKE MARY, Fla. – The body of a man that was found Tuesday inside one of two vehicles submerged in a pond near Seminole State College's Heathrow campus has been identified.

The body of Mark Reagan, 47, was found inside a pickup truck at 1055 AAA Drive in Lake Mary.

According to troopers, it's believed the man lost control of the pickup while driving a couple of days ago and crashed into the pond.  Troopers said Reagan had been reported missing on Monday.

"It's too early for us to tell how fast his (pickup) was going, but that's obviously one thing will look at, especially with the distance of how far the vehicle ended up in the water and whether or not it drifted or it ended up at that location," said Trooper Kim Montes.

She said the pickup was located 155 feet from shore by landscapers, who were spraying for insects in the water.

A Lexus is250 was also discovered in the pond, but the FHP said it was likely dumped in the water by car thieves. Montes said the car had been reported stolen last year out of Volusia County.

No other details were immediately known.
