ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – U.S. marshals and the Central Florida fugitive Task Force have a man in custody who fled the country 12 years ago after being charged in a DUI manslaughter case. Carey C. Price was found in the Dominican Republic.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Price crashed his car into three pedestrians who were working in a construction zone on State Road 417 near University Boulevard at 1:55 a.m. on Aug. 1, 2003. Grady Hill, 42, was killed, and Paul Kimbro, 44, and Charles Starrett, 43, were critically injured.
The FHP said Price was taken to a hospital the night of the crash, where he was found to have a blood alcohol level of 0.201 percent. He was then booked into the Orange County Jail.
The FHP said Price posted his bail and left the country.
Price was featured on "America's Most Wanted." Tips received about Price led the task force to the Dominican Republic, where he was taken into custody.
Price will be returned to Orange County, where he will face his original charges of DUI manslaughter and vehicular homicide.
