Ormond Beach house fire believed to have sparked by car

Damages estimated at $400,000

ORMOND BEACH, Fla. – Firefighters from four departments battled a house fire Tuesday morning in Ormond Beach.

The Ormond Beach Fire Department, with the assistance of Daytona Beach, Holly Hill and Volusia County, responded to a fire at a three-story home on Raintree Lane, according to the city of Ormond Beach.

City officials said the fire is believed to have started in the three-car garage before moving to the second story.

Significant damage was reported throughout the home, with damages estimated to be around $400,000.

The two occupants, who were home at the time the fire started, were not injured.

They believe that the fire started in a car.

Officials have not yet identified a cause.

The state fire marshal is investigating.
