SILVER SPRINGS SHORES, Fla. – One man was killed and another is in critical condition following a shooting in Silver Springs Shores on Thursday evening, officials said.
Deputies with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the homicide, which took place at a home in the 300 block of Oak Track Radial, according to a news release.

The shooting took place about 6:15 p.m. Officials learned of the incident after receiving 911 calls from people in the area who said they heard gunfire.
Deputies arrived and found the victims. One died at the shooting scene and the other was taken to a hospital. No names were released.
Officials haven’t released any further information about what led to the shooting or who might be responsible. The release said major-crimes detectives are in the preliminary stages of the investigation.
