The owner of the vehicle, Robert Hofius-Castaneda, originally told them that he had no knowledge of the shooting, however he later admitted to driving his vehicle while his passenger named "Jeffrey" fired three shots at the victim.

The victim told police that he had no knowledge of who was driving the Mini Cooper or who shot him.

Hofius-Castaneda told police that he took Jeffery to the area to look for the victim and did not know the reason for the shooting.

He told police that he hid his vehicle by putting a cover over it to conceal it after it had been involved in the shooting.

Hofius-Castaneda told police that the gun used in the shooting belonged to him.

Officers said the shooting took place at the store on Center Avenue around 12:45 p.m. Sunday.

Witnesses reported hearing three shots fired and officers later found that the victim, who has not been identified, had been shot in the arm, police said.

Another bullet struck an employee's vehicle and a third hit one of the store's windows, police said.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, officers said.

Hofius-Castaneda was charged with aggravated battery and discharging firearm within vehicle.
