Michael Wolfe.

TITUSVILLE, Fla. – The man accused of leaving bacon at a mosque while using a machete to vandalize the property will stand trial starting Monday.

Prosecutors say Michael Wolfe broke into the Islamic Society of Central Florida Masjid Al-Munin Mosque in Titusville on New Year's Eve in 2015.

State attorneys say surveillance video shows him using a machete to slash items inside before leaving a slab of raw bacon at the front door.

Prosecutors added a hate crime enhancement to Wolfe's charges before his trial. Because of that, Wolfe could face life in prison.
