MAITLAND, Fla. – Maitland police said a man who broke into several cars, including an unmarked police vehicle, before stealing a woman's keys and car has been arrested.
The man was taken into custody inside the RDV Sportsplex, which is across the street from where police said the string of burglaries began.
Alice Heider was inside the facility and witnessed the arrest.
"I saw feet first, they were carrying him out and he looked to be asleep or unconscious," Heider said. "I was very concerned. (I) wanted to make sure everyone inside was OK (and) there wasn't anyone hurt."

Maitland police said officers were called around 5:30 a.m. to the Dwell Apartments about the car break-ins.
Officers discovered several cars were broken into. The Orange County Sheriff's Office said one of its vehicles was burglarized, but no firearms were taken.
A search was launched for the culprit, who took the car keys from a woman, stole her vehicle and drove away, police said. The man crashed the stolen car on Keller Road and ran away, police said.
