COCOA BEACH, Fla. – A public ceremony will be held 1 p.m. Friday marking the installation of an "I Dream of Jeannie" historical sign in Cocoa Beach, Local 6 news partner Florida Today reports.
The sign will be installed at Lori Wilson Park, 1500 North Atlantic Ave. (State Road A1A), in Cocoa Beach.
The 1960s television situation comedy about an astronaut (Larry Hagman) and his genie (Barbara Eden) was set in and around Cocoa Beach, although most of the filming was done elsewhere. The city has an I Dream of Jeannie Lane near Lori Wilson Park, which has been a popular picture-taking spot for tourists.
Speakers at the Friday's include Brevard County Historical Commission Chairman Joe Morgan, former Florida Sen. Lori Wilson and Brevard County Commission Chairman Chuck Nelson.
