Medical episode leads to death investigation at $5.5 million Winter Park mansion

Police called to home on Genius Drive near Osceola Drive on the chain of lakes

WINTER PARK, Fla. – A medical episode lead to a death investigation Monday at a $5.5 million mansion in Winter Park.

The death was reported Sunday at a 14,000-square-foot, 10 bedroom, 10.5 bathroom home on Genius Drive near Osceola Drive on the chain of lakes, in the exclusive section of Winter Park.

Winter Park police said Robert Picerne died after the medical event.

“We should have more, hopefully from the medical examiner,” Winter Park Police Division Chief Pam Marcum said. “Putting anything else out would be premature.”

Death investigation launched at Winter Park mansion

Video from the scene showed patrol cars blocking off the home, which has a gated driveway and holiday lights.

Details on the medical episode is unknown at this time. The Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the formal cause of death.
