In addition to the swastika, the words “Get Out” were scrawled on the door, records show.
Deputies said the damage to the door is likely greater than $200 but less than $1,000.
The victim told deputies he has previously reported construction nails had been left in his driveway and that his wife had been receiving harassing phone calls, according to the incident report.
Investigators believe the home was targeted because of the victim’s ethnic origin.
Anyone with information on the graffiti or whoever may be responsible should call Volusia County detectives at (386) 804-9083.
People can also submit anonymous tips to Crime Stoppers at 888-277-8477. They may be eligible for a $5,000 reward.
