SANFORD, Fla. – Golf Cart Gurus, a business that — as the name might imply — deals in golf carts and parts, is hosting a city-wide race through Sanford May 29 to benefit U.S. service members.

The “2nd Amazing Race,” as the group calls it, will allow teams of two-to-four people to participate in competitions at a variety of businesses throughout Sanford, starting from Celery City Craft Beer Garden and ending at George’s Tavern.

According to the business, attendees can participate with golf carts, bicycles, motorcycles or even on foot. The business said there will be a trophy and prizes for 1st place, best challenge and cart-costume contest winners, among others.

Golf Cart Gurus stated there will be no food or alcohol challenges involved in the competition.

Tickets start at $15 per person for early registration and $20 per person starting May 25. The group is also asking for $40 donations from each team.

Proceeds will go toward Just Our Soldiers’ Helpers, a nonprofit group that puts together care packages for deployed troops.
