SANFORD, Fla. – Looking for some post-Halloween family fun? The Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens is offering free admission to residents on Nov. 5.

The free day comes from a joint effort with VyStar Credit Union to give back to the community by partnering with local nonprofits.

“On the heels of our local community enduring the impact of Hurricane Ian, it’s wonderful to be able to welcome them into the Zoo for a day focused on making learning and happy memories instead of storm recovery. It’s just another way VyStar has proven to be a great partner both to the Zoo and our local community,” Zoo CEO Richard E. Glover Jr said in a release.

Free admission will be limited to 600 guests per hour. To secure a free ticket, guests must visit the Zoo’s website here and get the ticket in advance as they will not be available at the gate.

The Central Florida Zoo reopened last week after flooding from Lake Monroe caused by Hurricane Ian made it dangerous for visitors to come to the zoo.
