‘Art in Bloom:’ Orlando Museum of Art celebrates spring with activities, florals

ORLANDO, Fla. – Celebrate the start of spring with this weekend’s “Art in Bloom” event at the Orlando Museum of Art.

The event runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“From art-inspired floral designs and curated antiques to demonstrations and presentations from world-renowned artists and designers, Art in Bloom has a little something for everyone,” event organizers said.

In addition to the art, you can enjoy special events, a silent auction and other entertainment.

Here’s a look at the event lineup:

Friday, April 5:

  • Guest speaker Celerie Kemble. VIP champagne reception, presentation and book signing: 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.; Ticket price: $150. Presentation and Book Signing: 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.; Ticket price: $55
  • Special appearance by Elizabeth Locke: 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.; included with general admission

Saturday, April 6:

  • Mystery Home Tours – Four tours starting at 10:30 a.m.; Ticket price: $55
  • What’s it Worth? Appraisals: 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.; Price: $20
  • Pinot, Palettes and Petals: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Ticket price: $60

Sunday, April 7

  • Tea in Bloom Morning Tea: 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.; Ticket prices: $55 for adults, $45 for children ages 4-12
  • Team in Bloom Afternoon Tea: 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.; Ticket price: $60 for adults, includes a glass of premium champagne
  • Blooming Kids Activities: 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; All activities are complimentary with general admission (while supplies last)

The event is presented by Council 101, an organization that supports the “cultural development and appreciation of the visual arts in Central Florida.”

“From fresh floral arrangements to inspiring speakers and Family Day activities, Art in Bloom is the perfect event to celebrate spring,” Lisa Sheppard, president of Council of 101, said in a release. “We look forward to showcasing all the amazing designs and activities while fundraising to support the Orlando Museum of Art.”
