Crews respond to fast-moving brush fire in Palm Bay’s ‘Compound’

PALM BAY, Fla. – Fire crews in Pam Bay have responded to a brush fire in the city’s “Compound” area on Thursday.

According to Assistant Fire Chief John Ringleb, The 5-6 acre brush fire is in the area of Sapodilla Road SW and Wingham Drive SW. Multiple units are on scene and more are en route.

There are no reports of any injuries or structural damage. Just last month, Palm Bay fire crews battled a 40-acre brush fire in the city’s “Compound” area that was accidental and had been caused by an explosion during testing by rocket enthusiasts.

Due to warm dry conditions, officials are warning about how fast brush fires can spread.
