DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Daytona Beach Police Department released body-worn camera video Thursday showing officers fish a robbery suspect out of the Halifax River after he jumped from a bridge.

Richard Martinovics, 32, faces charges of armed robbery, obstructing an officer without violence and four counts of violating pretrial release, records show.

Officers responding to a robbery call Thursday stopped Martinovics after spotting him on the bridge, the police department said on social media.

The video shows Martinovics ask if he’s being detained and jump into the water after getting that confirmed. Soon after, Martinovics is pulled from the water by the department’s marine unit, brought to land and walked away toward awaiting patrol vehicles, handcuffed in wet clothes.

Martinovics is being held on no bond.
