COLLEGE PARK, Fla. – Across Central Florida, the rising costs of food, labor and rent have led to many restaurant closures.

Denny Tornatore said those same factors led him to close his family’s College Park eatery.

After 15 years, Tornatore’s Ristorante and Italian Market is closing in College Park; the last day of operations will be Dec. 23.

“No matter how many people come here and spend their money – we’re closing,” Tornatore said in a social media post.

The restaurant, located at 3818 Edgewater Drive, serves pizza, pasta, soups, salads and more.

Tornatore said this is not the end of his culinary venture as he and his team plan on continuing to offer catering, charcuterie classes and its Dolche Dar Neinte dinners.  He also said that his team is working on trying something new.

“We are not done. We got some big stuff coming up,” Tornatore said.

Tornatore’s opened its doors in 2010 and was featured on Food Network’s “Restaurant Impossible” show in 2015, leading to the eatery being transformed and switching to a “made-from-scratch” menu.

“Since we opened in 2010, we have had to change with the times. We reinvented ourselves multiple times and survived COVID. We were blessed in 2015 with the life-changing day that was ‘Restaurant Impossible,’” Tornatore said in a social media post.

All in all, it seems that this is one chapter closed in Tornatore’s Ristorante book. Now we wait for what is next for the iconic College Park joint.

“From the bottom of our hearts: thank you, thank you, thank you, Orlando. This is not the last of Tornatore’s, so we will see you again soon,” the social media post reads.
