SANFORD, Fla. – A convicted murderer who has asked a judge to give him the death penalty requested the death penalty again in a Seminole County courtroom on Monday at a sentencing hearing.
William Davis III was found guilty in May of kidnapping, sexually assaulting and murdering 19-year-old Fabiana Malave at a car dealership in 2009.
While Davis' attorney asked the court to spare Davis' life and give him life in prison, Davis himself asked to be put to death.
"Knowing what I've done and everybody here is aware of what I've done, I can't sit here with a straight face to ask you to give me life in prison," Davis told the court on Monday. "I can't and I won't."
Davis' brother testified by phone saying that Davis grew up in a household with their father, who had a quick temper and a violent nature and that the traits carried on to Davis.
The judge set a sentencing date of December 3.
During the first part of his sentencing phase in August, Davis told Judge John Galluzzo and the jury he deserved to get the death penalty.

"If you recommend life in prison for me, it's a mistake," Davis said during an August 7th hearing.
One day later, a jury recommended Davis receive the death penalty.
Davis, 33, met Malave at a Seminole County used car dealership where she worked. Officers say he abducted her, raped her, strangled her and then drove around with the teen's body in the trunk of his car.
