Man peeps at woman through window as she prepares to shower

Clermont police looking for man

CLERMONT, Fla. – Police are searching for a man who was caught peeping through a woman's window as she prepared to take a shower.

The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday along the 800 block of Chestnut Street, according to Clermont police.

The woman told News 6 she was about to get in the shower when she turned to the right and looked at the bathroom window.

"I saw the outline of a person's face really close up against the window, and I freaked out," she said.

She said she knew she had to keep quiet, so she wrapped herself in a towel and called police.

"I thought in my head, 'If I scream and he runs away, they're never going to be able to find him,' and it could happen to somebody else," she said. "It could be worse next time, or he can come back here and it would be worse."

The man got away before Clermont police arrived.

Outside, the woman and her roommates found the screen had been cut; it looked like he had tried to remove it. They also found a smudge from his face on the glass. They guess he had to stand on the spigot outside since the window is about 6 feet from the ground.

The woman said she's still very scared.

Anyone who knows anything about this incident is asked to call Clermont police at 352-394-5588.
