MIMS, Fla. – A deadly crash involving a semi-truck and a motorcycle shut down southbound Interstate 95 in Brevard County for hours on Friday morning.
Troopers said the crash occurred on I-95 south in Mims at exit 223 for State Road 46. Traffic was backed up for nearly 3 miles, as all lanes were blocked.

FHP said the motorcyclist, 65-year-old Thelbert Harper, was riding southbound on I-95 when he had a mechanical issue and his motorcycle became disabled. As Harper was pushing his motorcycle out of the lanes, the tractor-trailer ran over him.
The crash remains under investigation and it's not clear if charges will be fired against the truck driver.
