COCOA, Fla. – One person is dead after rescue units responded to a collision between two trucks just before 11 a.m. Monday, Cocoa police said.
Brevard County Fire Rescue said the deceased 35-year-old Kissimmee man was initially trapped inside his truck as a result of the crash, which took place on Townsend Road near the Sam's Club just east of Interstate 95, News 6 partner Florida Today reported.

Cocoa Police Department spokeswoman Yvonne Martinez described the wreck as "basically a head-on collision."
As the driver of one of the trucks was pulling onto the roadway carrying a load, he noticed another truck coming at him in his lane, Martinez said. The second driver then overcorrected, causing his truck to flip and his passenger to be ejected.
That second driver was trapped inside of his truck and later pronounced dead at the scene, according to first responders. The passenger was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and the driver of the first truck suffered only minor injuries and refused medical care.
None of the individuals involved have been identified by authorities.
Traffic homicide investigators are interviewing witnesses and working to determine the exact circumstances of the crash.
