Friends told News 6 Tomlinson had finished performing with his bandmates the night of June 11, 2016, and he went to Pulse nightclub to blow off some steam afterward.

His name was released by authorities the day after the mass shooting at Pulse.

Weeks after the June 12 shooting, his musical family celebrated his life at the House of Blues, one of the musical venues where he performed.

Hundreds of people crowded the House of Blues at Disney Springs to remember him.

Musical acts from most of the bands and groups Tomlinson had performed with headlined a celebration of life, at which guests were asked to wear white.

"Shane was a great person," CeCe Teneal, said. "He did everything in excellence, so it was important to us to put on a celebration of life that was grand."

Teneal performed with Tomlinson in Soul Commotion, the first band he joined when he moved to Orlando from North Carolina.

"Based on what has happened in this community, we all need each other," Teneal said. "There's no way we can get through this unless we lean on each other."
