Calling all people ages 65 and older: Did you realize the window for Medicare open enrollment is now available?
“For most people, this is your one chance to make changes for 2022,” said Michelle Brownell, from UnitedHealthcare.
Open enrollment runs from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7 this year, so seniors have about a two-month period in which to make some very important decisions.
It’s understandable that many people have questions right about now. News 6 is hosting a series of phone banks where you can ask the experts -- and the first event is set for noon to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 13.
Call 866-956-4749 to get the answers you need.
This can feel like an overwhelming time, Brownell said.
It’s best to think about Medicare options in terms of these three elements: Choice, care and experience.
Choice, as in, has anything changed with your medical status? Care refers to “are my doctors still in the network?” And experience, as in, are you interested in what the plan has to offer, like dental or vision options, or even fitness and wellness programs?
First and foremost, you’ll most certainly want to confirm that your doctors and hospitals of choice are available through your plan, Brownell said.
Take advantage of that phone bank mentioned above, or, Brownell said, you can also call UHC at 844-323-3698 or visit UHC.com.
