TAMPA, Fla. – University of Central Florida quarterback McKenzie Milton is in "good" condition following an in-game injury that took him out of Friday's game against the University of South Florida.
Officials with Tampa General Hospital confirmed Milton's condition around 1 p.m. on Saturday. A source close to the UCF football program told News 6 that Milton underwent immediate surgery to repair an artery in his right leg Friday night upon his arrival to the hospital.

Milton's family released a statement on his condition around 3:30 p.m. Saturday. The statement said Milton's surgery was successful and that he is recovering well.

Sources said the junior from Kapolei, Hawaii suffered a dislocated right knee early in the second quarter of the game. UCF football head coach Josh Heupel described the injury as "traumatic." Sources said there appears to be no break in Milton's femur, which was among the initial on-field concerns.
Milton was said to be conscious and in good spirits Saturday morning. Sources told News 6 sports anchor Jamie Seh that an MRI is scheduled to determine the extent of the damage to Milton's right leg.
The mother of UCF wide receiver Dredrick Snelson tweeted a message of unification to all UCF football fans, asking attendees of the Dec.1 game to wear leis in support of Milton.

Milton, eighth in Heisman Trophy balloting a year ago, was 5-of-10 passing for 86 yards, including a 14-yard touchdown throw to Gabriel Davis. He also tossed a first-quarter interception and had 16 yards rushing on five attempts.
UCF went on to win the Friday game 38-10. The team has the nation's longest winning streak at 23 games and will host next week's American Athletic Conference championship game.
