Location to offer limited edition cookies, items and more

Gideon's Bakehouse (Gideon's Bakehouse)

ORLANDO, Fla – The wait is finally over.

Gideon’s Bakehouse will hold its grand opening for its Disney Springs location Saturday.

The bakehouse, which is famously known for its mouth-watering cookies and cakes, had an initial soft-opening to guests in December. The shop closed its doors on Jan. 2 to prepare for the big opening day. On Facebook, officials with the bakeshop listed out a number of exciting details to come when the doors finally open.

A limited number of guests will get a free sticker, limited art print of the famous gargoyle that adorns the top of the business, try limited edition cookie and cake flavors and receive a free peanut butter buttercream dip. The business is also debuting a new Gargoyle T-shirt and extending its hot cookie hour that will have homemade ice cream.

When Gideon’s had its soft opening, the business saw long lines of people wanting to get in.

Officials said on Saturday guests should expect to sign up in-person for a virtual return time. All items are limited in supplies.

The new location is located right across from Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar. Gideon’s first location opened in 2016 at Central Florida’s original food hall, the East End Market, along Corrine Drive in Orlando. The shop has perfected the chocolate chip cookie and has been awarded and recognized by the New York Times, The Boston Globe, Sports Illustrated and many other publications.

Officials said they will reopen to guests on Thursday. According to the Disney Springs website, the entertainment complex opens at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Steve Lewis, the owner of Gideon’s Bakehouse, spoke with Florida Foodie last year about the expansion into Disney Springs. You can watch his interview below.
