Walmart is turning 160 of its parking lots into drive-in movie theaters and there’s only one coming to Central Florida. A Walmart in Winter Haven will host the two-day movie event on Sept. 4 and 5, the company announced. The lineup of movies includes “Wonder Woman,” “Spy Kids,” “Space Jam,” “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” “Ghostbusters,” “The Wizard of Oz,” “Black Panther,” “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,” and “Friday Night Lights.”Tickets are free, but they must be requested in advance with each location having a maximum capacity, Walmart officials said. Walmart officials said movies and times are subject to change.

Blake Shelton is coming to drive-ins across Central FloridaThe country superstar will host a drive-in concert July 25 at over 300 locations across the United States. The locations hosting the concert across Central Florida are as follows: Epic Theater Mt. Dora, Epic Theatres Clermont, Epic Theatres West Volusia and Ocala Drive-In Theatre. Presented by Encore Live, the concert will be pre-taped and feature Shelton’s longtime girlfriend, Gwen Stefani and fellow country star, Trace Adkins. Drive-in concerts have been popping up in the wake of the pandemic.

(AP Photo)NEW YORK Tour promoter Live Nation has announced its first-ever drive-in concerts series in the U.S. for July, months after the live music industry has been on lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic. All venue staff are required to wear masks, and Live Nation requests that attendees wear masks upon arrival, where there will be contact-less ticket scanning through their windows. Masks are not required once fans are in their designated tailgate areas, and Live Nation is not requiring that fans wear gloves. Tom See, president of Live Nation Venues-US Concerts, said the company spent months working to find a safe, enjoyable way to put on live shows during the pandemic. A menu of hot food items and nonalcoholic will be available for purchase, Live Nation said.

The country music superstar announced he’s holding a concert being played at 300 drive-ins across the U.S. and many are right here in Central Florida. Ocala Drive-In, Epic St. Augustine Pop-Up Drive-In, Epic Mt. Dora Pop-Up Drive-In, Epic Clermont and Epic West Volusia are the local drive-ins showing the concert on June 27. Tickets for the drive-in experience cost $100 per passenger car or truck.
