When authorities asked for the cafe’s liquor license, the part-owner did not have one or show any paperwork. It was a man who identified himself as Brewster’s husband that said they had applied for a liquor license and were waiting for approval from the state. The individuals agreed they would not sell liquor without a proper license, according to a sheriff’s office report. The 36-year-old was arrested and is now facing a charge for possession of alcohol with the intent to be sold without a proper license.

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one man dead. According to police, the shooting occurred in a parking lot on International Drive early Saturday morning. Officers said that 26-year-old D’quan Prentice was taken to a hospital, suffering from a gunshot wound. Prentice was linked to the shooting scene on International Drive, authorities said. “As this investigation is active and ongoing, there are no other details to release at this time,” officers said.

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Wheel at ICON Park will be ready to take riders again beginning June 3, according to ICON Park officials. Some of the restaurants at Icon Park, the home base for Orlando’s Wheel, reopened earlier this month. Due to the coronavirus, management at The Wheel at ICON Park have implemented new protocols to keep guests at a distance in line with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines. “At ICON Park, we’re devoted to providing the ultimate entertainment experience for our guests. In one convenient place, you can find world class attractions, excellent restaurants and live entertainment,” ICON Park president and CEO Chris Jaskiewicz said.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – “After further review,” Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings said he would vote against the current agreement with Universal Orlando to extend Kirkman Road connecting the theme park company’s future attraction, Epic Universe. Taxes from that district go toward road improvements in the tourist district instead of items for Orange County residents, such as police departments and schools. The Universal Orlando agreement with the county would extend the taxing district to 2040, continuing to route funds into the tourist district. The Orange County Board of Commissioners was set to vote on the deal Tuesday. Demings said in a statement Friday he won’t support the agreement as is and asked the commission to re-examine the end date on the taxing district.
