He says the community lost these young lives because of the increasing gang violence in the county and the young members that continue to join them. “There are some very violent gangs here at work in Orange County. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said Dennis Joshua Atkinson, who attended Evans High School, died in the shooting, which was reported at 11:07 p.m. in the 1600 block of Glendale Road in Pine Hills. According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the area and found the teens shot in front of a home. Both victims were taken to a hospital with traumatic wounds, and Atkinson was pronounced dead, according to deputies. Detectives said anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
