Gardner Minshew turned in his best performance in two months, throwing for 295 yards and three touchdowns and leading the Jaguars to a 38-20 victory over Indianapolis on Sunday. The rookie closed out Jacksonville's disappointing season by strengthening his case to be the team's starting quarterback next season. Minshew and the Jaguars (6-10) certainly made Marrone look good in the regular-season finale for both teams. Jacoby Brissett fumbled on consecutive drives, ending any chance Indianapolis had to end the season with consecutive wins.

Owner Shad Khan released a statement: “Within the past hour I informed Tom Coughlin that he was being relieved of his duties as Executive Vice President of Football Operations of the Jacksonville Jaguars, effective this evening. I thank Tom for his efforts, not only over the past three years but for all he did from our very first season, 25 years ago, to put the Jacksonville Jaguars on the map. General Manager Dave Caldwell and Head Coach Doug Marrone will each report directly to me on an interim basis. The team fined former defensive end Dante Fowler more than $700,000 for issues related to that.
