SR 417 at Red Bug Lake Road back open after crash with injuries
Southbound traffic on State Road 417 in Seminole County was at a standstill Monday morning due to a multi-vehicle crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The wreck was reported before 8 a.m. involving a truck and a sedan at Red Bug Lake Road, according to FHP. Kim Montes, a sedan was traveling north when it crossed over into southbound lanes, hitting a pickup truck. The driver of the sedan was taken to the hospital as a trauma alert, troopers said. A 66-year-old man died Sunday after a car accident on State Road 417 in Seminole County, according to Florida Highway Patrol. Authorities said the man was driving southbound on State Road 417 when the accident happened. While driving, the left front side of the car hit the wall barrier on the side of the highway and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, according to FHP. Shed falls off trailer, lands on car on State Road 417 in Orange County
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. โ A shed fell off a trailer and landed on a car after a pickup truck crashed into the semi-truck that was hauling it, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Troopers said the pickup truck and the semi were both traveling south on State Road 417 near University Boulevard Monday at about 7:35 a.m. when the pickup truck driver went to change lanes and ended up hitting the right side of the semi. The 27-year-old Orlando man driving the pickup truck and the 40-year-old DeLand man driving the semi-truck were not injured. Troopers said the pickup truck driver received a ticket for careless driving. The shed was later moved to the shoulder, but traffic remained slow in the area.
Orlando man riding in bed of pickup killed in SR-417 crash in Seminole County
SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. โ A 58-year-old Orlando man riding in the back of a pickup truck was killed Wednesday when an SUV struck the pickup and he was thrown onto State Road 417 in Seminole County, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The crash was reported at about 2:15 p.m. near mile marker 47. The man in the bed of the pickup was ejected from the truck. The driver of the car, a 31-year-old Orlando woman, and the driver of the pickup, a 79-year-old Orlando man, suffered minor injuries, the FHP said. The southbound lanes of State Road 417 in Seminole County were closed as authorities investigated.
