HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – A multi-vehicle crash caused a backup Monday on the Florida Turnpike in Lake County.

The crash was reported Monday afternoon in the southbound lanes of the turnpike near mile marker 283 in Howey-in-the-Hills.

Lake County officials said a tractor-trailer hauling lumber overturned, leading to the wreck. Two big rigs, an SUV and a sedan were involved in the crash, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

One victim was airlifted to a hospital, officials said. Others were taken to the hospital via ambulance, according to officials.

No other details have been released.
