2 adults, 4 children injured in Marion County crash

4 victims taken to hospitals as 'trauma alert' patients

Two cars are involved in a crash in Marion County.

SILVER SPRINGS, Fla. – Two adults and four children were injured Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash in Marion County, officials said.

The crash was reported at 5:02 p.m. near the intersection of East Highway 40 and Southeast 196th Terrace Road in Silver Springs.

Authorities said firefighters extricated patients from both vehicles, and four victims were taken to hospitals as "trauma alert" patients.

Two other children were taken to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.

No other details have been released.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
