Orlando man injured after leading troopers on multi-county chase on I-4, FHP says

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – An Orlando man was injured Monday after he led troopers on a chase that started in Volusia County and ended in Orange County, officials said.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a preliminary investigation shows that a trooper tried to pull over a Chrysler 200 in the westbound lanes of Interstate 4 near mile marker 121 in Volusia County.

Troopers said the driver “actively fled” and was driving recklessly.

A trooper conducted a PIT maneuver on the vehicle at mile marker 86 in Orange County, according to the FHP.

Troopers said the driver, identified only as a 26-year-old man, was taken to a hospital. Details about his injuries or how exactly they occurred have not been released.

According to the FHP, the incident remains an active criminal investigation.
